Founded in 1914

Starting as a small shop of Swedish immigrants in the Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood, we initially manufactured wood screens and sash for windows, doors and porches. Using a storefront location on Racine Avenue to sell its products to surrounding neighborhood homes and businesses, Auburn Screen Company became well-known within Chicagoland. The introduction of aluminum replacement windows in the 1960s and a building catastrophe, shifted Auburns primary focus from manufacturing for local residences to commercial installation of windows and doors in buildings around the city.
